THE DIFFERENT CORDILLERA TRIBE ASSEMBLY
The Adasen Tribe is a community considered as an ethnolinguistic subtribe of the Tingguian ethnic group. They are mostly located in the municipalities of Lagayen, Lagangilag, and Tineg in the northern part of Abra province.
Binongan Tinguian people live in scattered villages and cover a large area. Most of them live in settlements usually found near riverbanks. Dwellings are usually built in clusters with rice granary and vegetable patches. Two or three adjacent settlements generally compose a village.
The Ifugao are Known worldwide for the stunning rice terraces they have carved out of the mountainsides. They are also among the most imaginative and prolific Fililpino craftspeople in a more general sense, especially with respect to woodworking, weaving, and basketry.
The Iloko Tribe
Inlaud Tribes are scattered primarily on the islands of Luzon and Mindanao, and are primarily tribal in nature.
The Kalinga Tribe are an indigenous ethnic group whose ancestral domain is in the Cordillera Mountain Range of the northern Philippines. They are mainly found in Kalinga province.
The Kankanaey Tribe lives in western Mountain Province, northern Benguet, northeastern La Union and southeastern Ilocos Sur. The Kankanaey of the western Mountain Province are sometimes identified as Applai or Aplai.
The Maeng Tribe came from a brother and sister couple named May-eng and Mayang who survived a great universal flood that destroyed all communities, fields and most living creatures.
The Masadiit Tribe are among the earliest inhabitants of Abra; sporadically distributed in the areas and places in Sallapadan, Bucloc, Sitio Sapdaan (in Manabo), Poblacion Boliney, Bao-yan, and Dumagas.
Mountain Province of the Cordillera mountain ranges in the upper Chico river region. The group is more densely located in the municipalities of Bontoc (18,080), Sadanga (7,245), and Barlig (5,640).
